Are You Tres CHIC?

AMCA has joined CHIC, the Canine Health Information Center! Jointly sponsored by OFA and AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF), CHIC's mission is "to provide a source of health information for owners, breeders, and scientists that will assist in breeding healthy dogs."

Malamutes need the following tests for a dog to receive a CHIC number:

• OFA hip radiographs (required)

• CERF eye exam (required)

• Thyroid (recommended; see www.offa.org/thyinfo.html

Every Malamute who has both OFA and CERF certificates will be entered in the CHIC database and will soo be receiving a CHIC report in the mail. We already have over 750 malamutes who qualify for CHIC numbers! We're proud to be starting off on the right foot. Let's keep up the momentum! Look for more information at www.caninehealthinfo.org.
