How the award winners are selected:
-
Black Hawk Memorial Award goes to the Malamute of either sex
whose average of the three qualifying scores is the highest for that year.
-
Flaming Flirt Memorial Award goes to the dog of the opposite
sex to the Black Hawk Award winner whose average of the three qualifying
scores is the highest for his/her sex. If a dog were to NQ at a trial
between the first and second qualifying leg or between the second and third
qualifying leg, the average of the three qualifying scores would not be
affected. The owner/handler must have been a member of AMCA at the time of
earning the third leg.
-
Oonanik Memorial Award goes to that dog earning any of the
advanced titles with the highest average of the three qualifying scores.
Should a dog be awarded an UDX, the average of the ten combined qualifying
scores would be considered.
-
Award of Merit goes to any dog that has earned a CDX, TDX, UD,
UDX, or OTCH. Again, the owner/handler must have been a member at the time
the final qualifying score is earned.
This database is a work in progress. It
is a listing of all AKC performance titles earned by Alaskan
Malamutes with the earliest entry being for 1940 and the
most recent, 2005. Additional data will be added yearly. At
the time of this posting there were 1646 records in all. I
most sincerely hope that I have omitted no one.
As you will soon see, though, there are
many gaps in the database.
When the information is most likely lost,
such as the names of the sire and dam of an animal competing
under an ILP number, then I inserted the word "Unknown." At
other times, I used the notation "N/ A" for Not Available.
This is not to say that the information is not obtainable;
it simply was not available to me at the time of the
posting. I appeal to you for your assistance in filling in
these gaps with the correct information.
There might also be errors, all kinds of
errors. I will be at the Regional and National with a
printout which I will be happy to share with you. If you can
fill in some of the gaps, I will be really happy. Please
find me.
If we miss each other there, then please
send your additions and corrections to me. I am most
grateful for your assistance.
All results, statistics & awards are not
final until published in the AMCA Newsletter or as defined in the AMCA Standing
Rules.
