Information & Resources
This website is designed so that the U.S. is divided up into
service areas, where you
will find
resources such as local breed clubs,
breeders' listing, rescue
contacts, etc.
The Alaskan Malamute Club of
America, Inc. has as its main goal the betterment of the Alaskan Malamute breed and asserts that its membership has an obligation to the
breed to preserve the magnificence of the breed without exploiting it. To that end the Club was
established and those goals are kept in mind as we expand into each new area of involvement with our breed. The Club's
membership of over 1,000 is actively involved in all those facets of the Breed that contribute to these goals.
We
publish the AMCA Newsletter which is available through membership in the AMCA. Non-members may subscribe to the AMCA
Newsletter at a subscription rate of $42.00 per year. See the link below to view
or download the AMCA Newsletter Subscription form. Our Newsletter is a monthly magazine of approximately 70 pages which
devotes itself to Club information, articles of an educational nature, and announcements of winning, working, obedience
and conformation titles. Malamute owners throughout the world communicate with each other through AMCA's newsletter.
The AMCA also publishes several brochures about the Alaskan Malamute and related Alaskan Malamute problems. These
Brochures are available to you at a nominal cost. We are proud of our Pedigree Reference Journals, Volumes 1 through 6,
each containing 150-200 pictures, pedigrees and information on over 1,000 Champions, working dogs and obedience dogs
that have left their stamp on our breed. These PRJs are available to you also.
Those areas of interest that the Club
pursues with active involvement of its membership include conformation, obedience, working sled dogs, genetics,
hereditary problems, conformation and obedience Specialties, brochures, Club awards, local Club affiliation, novelties,
a Registry of Merit. We also have a Working Hall of Fame for outstanding working dogs of the past and an awards program
for today's working dogs. New areas of involvement come as a need for them is seen.
Membership
in the AMCA is one avenue to pursue your interest in the breed.
To apply for
membership you will need to have 2 sponsors who have been members of AMCA for at least 5 years and who have known you
