  • Wells State Park - This is a 1,400 acre woodland park with more than 10 miles of trails. Check in at the Ranger Station for information regarding what trails you can take your dogs out on. Note that there are supposedly a couple yearling male BEARS in the park! The Ranger Station phone number is on the Wells State Park website. The park is about 5 miles from the Hosts Hotel.
     
  • Brimfield State Park - This is a 3,500 acre woodland park with more than 20 miles of roads and trails. The Ranger Station closes this week, so anyone planning to use the park should contact Wells State Park for information. The park is about 9 miles from the Hosts Hotel.
     
  • Old Sturbridge Village - The park is about a quarter mile from the Hosts Hotel. This is a 200 acre park that replicates a 1830's New England Village. Plan to spend 3 to 4 hours in order to see all the Village has to offer. Hours, Rates and Directions
     
  • Sturbridge Recreation Area - Town of Sturbridge Public recreation area is about a mile from the Hosts Hotel.
     
  • Stageloft Repertory Theatre - From October 3rd to the 26th the theater will be presenting Hercule Poirot and the Case of the Black Coffee by Agatha Christie. The theater is about a mile and a quater from the Hosts Hotel.
     
  • Icon Chapel and Museum and St. Anne Shrine - At St. Anne and St. Patrick Parish, Sturbridge (Fiskdale). Approximately a mile and a half from the Hosts Hotel. Read the history of the Chapel and Shrine of St. Anne.
     
  • Capen Hill Nature Sanctuary - This is a beautiful 72-acre wildlife refuge in Charlton MA, with many hiking trails. The sanctuary has a Wildlife Rehabilitation Program that provides care for much of the area’s injured and orphaned wildlife. The sanctuary is about five and a half miles from the Hosts Hotel.
