AMCA 2007 Photo Contest Information

An annual PE booth will now be at the National Specialty each year, hosting the photo contest and also providing literature available through AMCA and AKC. Please visit the table!

I would like to welcome Carmen Rowe and Sheila Hjermstad as our new Public Legislation Co-chairs. Together they hope to keep our membership abreast on new legislation, and help us decipher good and bad points regarding legislation such as PAWS. If you have any ideas or suggestions about Public Legislation please feel free to direct these to Carmen or Sheila.

Our committee will be discussing our present literature and updating and possibly reformatting literature to be downloaded easily off of a website. We would welcome any suggestions from the membership.

I would like to thank all of the previous members of PE and also new members that have agreed to step up to the plate and help us.

Enclosed at the bottom of this is a list of our committee. The focus leaders are busy getting their own teams together to provide PE for their area. Please, please, help if you are contacted. Being on the team could mean simply bringing literature to your local kennels club show, entering a benched show just to educate, doing a meet the breed booth at a local show, participating in a parade, going to a school to give a demo on working dogs, or just a talk about malamutes to someone who asked. It could simply mean making a call to someone that can do it. It also could mean putting on the Eukanuba Classic Meet the Breed Booth if it comes to your area.  If you are at the National attending, it could mean straightening the table, or taking entries for the Photo contest.  We would love to have your help.

We currently still are in need of a focus leader for the Mid-East Region. Please contact me if you are interested!

It is our responsibility as members and breeders belonging to the AMCA to educate our prospective puppy buyers and the public about our breed, so that they can make educated decisions about bringing an Alaskan Malamute into their family/home. We would like to encourage our affiliate clubs as well as our rescue organizations to help us and to participate in continuing the education of our public regarding our magnificent breed!
