Dear Fellow Alaskan Malamute Enthusiasts:
The Rocky Mountain Region is excited to host the 2010 National Specialty in Denver, Colorado. The last time Colorado hosted a National, it was 1987; CH Hug a Bear’s Steppinwolf was awarded Best in Show under Judge Derek Rayne. Ronald Reagan was the President and a gallon of gas was going for about 65¢. It’s been a while, but it will be good to have everyone back in our wonderful state. We hope all of you will join us for the Mile High National.
We have a wonderful show site situated right off I-70 on the east side of Denver, only minutes away from arguably one of the most efficient and nicest airports in the Nation. The Crowne Plaza Hotel and Convention center was completely remodeled in 2008 and has hosted many other breed shows. There are restaurants, shops, and trails all within walking distance of the hotel.
We have assembled a team of incredible Malamute people to bring this endeavor to fruition, including a large number of young members with many new and creative ideas. Our collective goal is to make this a National to remember.
Judges will include Shilon Bedford for the National and Jean Fournier for the Regional.
On behalf of the Rocky Mountain Area Members, we welcome you to Colorado in October of 2010. We look forward to you joining us for the Mile High National and experience Oktoberfest - Colorado Style.
Thank you and see you soon:
Barbara White
