Show Chair Message

Dear Alaskan Malamute Enthusiasts,

The Central Region invites AMCA, its members, and all Alaskan Malamute enthusiasts to start "Makin’ Tracks Back to Wisconsin" for the 2007 AMCA National and Central Region Specialties.

The 2007 Specialties will be held at the Olympia Resort and Spa in Oconomowoc, WI from October 15th to 20th. This is the same site at which the 2000 Specialties were held and they turned out to be one of the most successful AMCA specialty shows ever held. The show site features a 10,600 sq. ft. show room with vendor booths and an adjacent 8,500 sq. ft. grooming room. Dogs are welcome on the entire site other than the resort lobby, restaurants, and other designated areas. RV parking is available on-site but advance reservations are required.

The 2007 National and Regional will feature three weight pulls, seminars, clinics, CGC Testing, Working Dog Showcase, Top Twenty competition, and an "Evening with the Stars" gala. Agility competition will be held off-site at the Western Waukesha Dog Training Club (less than 10 miles from Olympia). Caper Performance Events will run the event.

The Oconomowoc area has experienced a major building boom in the last several years and is now better and bigger than ever (they even have a Starbucks). The area is located within a two hour radius of three airports: Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago.

On behalf of the 2007 National Show Committee, Central Region members, my assistant chairperson and I, we welcome you to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin in October 2007.

Looking forward to seeing you in Oconomowoc,

Linda Goba
2007 National Specialty Show Chairperson
