AMCA's Futurity is to encourage the breeding
of the best possible Alaskan Malamute and to
reward the breeders for their efforts. Recognition is also given the
owners in whose hands lie the responsibility
of developing the inherited potentialities. The sire is also
recognized for his genetic contribution. Proper nomination is
required to participation in this event. Questions and nominations for

Maturity Stakes
This event is open to all malamutes who were ELIGIBLE
THROUGH PROPER NOMINATION PROCEDURES for the 2002 Futurity Stakes. If
your puppy was actually shown or not makes no difference; being eligible
for last year’s futurity is the requirement for entry in this year’s
Maturity. The Maturity Stakes of the AMCA is an extension of the AMCA
Futurity Stakes whereby the maturing Futurity Nominated dog/bitch can
continue to compete at the following year’s National Specialty. This is
an opportunity for the breeder to exhibit to his fellow malamute
fanciers and breeders the now maturing product(s) of their breeding
program. The Maturity Stakes is open to all pure-bred Alaskan Malamutes
who were properly nominated for the previous year’s Futurity Stakes and
who are between the ages of 18 to 30 months of age. No additional
nominations required. Actual entry into the previous year’s Futurity
Stakes competition is not required to be eligible for the Maturity
Stakes the following year.
Futurity & Maturity competition scheduled on Friday, October 17th
at 9:00 AM.
