Alaskan Malamute Club of America
The AKC Parent Breed Club for the Alaskan Malamute

Since we have a perfect location to hold weight pull events it has been decided by the Committee that we will offer a total of FIVE WEIGHT PULL EVENTS. This would offer the opportunity for enthusiasts to try to acquire an AMCA title if desired. All pulls will be conducted under AMCA rules and participants will only have to weigh in on the 1st day.

The primary event will be the NATIONAL SPECIALTY WEIGHT PULL and will be held on Friday, October 17. Steve Palinkas, our Weight Pull Chairman, will conduct a weight pull seminar on Thursday (10/16) afternoon for those interested in learning more about this activity. A Novice weight pull will be held following the seminar, time to be announced. 500 pounds will be the maximum pulled in the novice class; therefore novice dogs will not qualify for AMCA certification or awards.

In order to keep costs down, we will ONLY be offering major trophies for the NS Weight Pull event. Participation awards will be given to all participants. Entry fees are in the process of being determined but will reflect a discount for all who wish to enter the 4 subsequent pulls. Watch your Newsletter and the 2003 National Website for more details.
